The Temple DCANet Dialup Program is a commercial Internet dialup service
that combines high-speed access to the Internet with direct access to
Temple's campus networks. Members of the Temple community may choose to
participate in the program because of the attractive pricing,
local dialup access throughout the Delaware Valley, and the
high-speed and reliable access to Temple's network that the program
provides.
The program is open to current students, staff, and faculty of Temple
University. Currently, the program is not open to alumni. Eligibility to
the program is confirmed by checking the Temple AccessNet username and
password of applicants. Eligible members of the Temple community can
learn how to obtain a Temple AccessNet username and password on Temple's
web site.
After signing up online, a new member's application is sent to DCANet's New
Account group. Applications are processed within one business day, and new
members receive and e-mail confirmation once accounts are created. Members
who sign up for the program will receive a DCANet PPP username and password.
This username and password provides access to any of DCANet's
high-speed modem and ISDN dialups throughout the Delaware Valley. Once
connected, your account will enable you to check your e-mail, access the
Internet, access hosts at temple, and use a web browser such as Netscape
Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Eligible participants can sign
up online.
